The Speedmaster Professional is worn by astronauts in outer space. When NASA chose this watch, they requested a hesalite crystal, which "unlike a sapphire crystal" does not break into tiny fragments on impact. This feature is very important for astronauts, as the tiny fragments of a broken sapphire crystal would pose a danger in a zero-gravity environment. The Speedmaster Professional with reference number 3570.50.00 is the original Moon Watch. This model is made of stainless steel on a stainless steel bracelet, fitted with a black dial and a hesalite crystal. It is waterproof to 30 metres/100 feet and is equipped with the calibre 1861 manual-winding movement. As the only chronograph to be flight-qualified by NASA for manned space missions, it is the only watch ever to have been worn on the Moon. Today, over 30 years later, the Speedmaster remains a legend in watchmaking, its popularity unwavering amongst aficionados of classic timepieces. The Speedmaster Professional was first flight tested in space by Walter Schirra aboard Sigma 7, October 1962. The Omega ran flawlessly and was used as backup to the on-board clock. On-board timing devices in the Mercury capsule were internal to the spacecraft and wristwatches had not undergone rigorous testing, as the astronaut never left the protected environment of the spacecraft. On the last Mercury Mission, Gordon Cooper wore both the Omega chronograph and a Bulova Accutron Astronaut in order to compare the accuracy of the manually-wound Omega to the then new electronic Bulova. The Omega Speedmaster Professional is a classic Swiss chronograph with a cult-like following. It and its predecessors have been in continuous production for over 40 years. This current model is in a 42 x 14.5mm SS screw back case with "The first watch worn on the Moon" inscription on the screw back, water resistant to 30 meters. It is on a signed SS bracelet, the latest version with release buttons on the deployant clasp, long enough for an eight inch wrist. This Omega Speedmaster Professional watch is in near mint condition, without a scratch or other imperfection of the case, bezel, dial, or the acrylic crystal, only very minor scuffs on the bracelet and a pinpoint ding on the back edge of the lug at one. The Omega cal 1861 18 jewel manual winding movement maintains accurate time within a tolerance of six seconds per day, and the chronograph functions precisely. |

| BROAD ARROW |

The Speedmaster "Broad Arrow" takes its name from the shape of its hands. The striking arrowhead hour hand was used on the first Speedmaster and has since enjoyed renewed popularity with the recent Speedmaster models. Other unmistakable OMEGA traits, such as the ivory dial with applied blued hour markers and blued steel hands, confer the legendary Speedmaster design ethos upon the new "Broad Arrow". The models with a stainless steel case are available with this dial or a black dial with rhodium-plated hour markers and hands. The stainless steel bracelet is slightly cambered, giving the watch smoother lines and offering improved comfort for the wearer. Hand-stitched polished Louisiana alligator leather straps are also available in black to complement the black dial, or in brown for the ivory dial. The heart of the Speedmaster "Broad Arrow" is undoubtedly the new OMEGA calibre 3303 movement, developed by OMEGA and produced exclusively for OMEGA by Frédéric Piguet. The new calibre is a totally new self-winding COSC-certified chronometer movement which benefits from the latest in watchmaking technology. Its column-wheel chronograph mechanism consists of a ratchet wheel with columns that govern the precision operation of various levers for the chronograph functions: start, stop and reset for the central chronograph seconds hand and the hour and minute totalisers (located at 6 o'clock and 3 o'clock respectively). Column-wheel chronographs are widely recognised as the finest chronograph movements available. However, they remain exclusive, since very few manufacturers are capable of producing this highly sophisticated mechanism. The exclusive nature of OMEGA's new movement is further enhanced by OMEGA's proven sprung-balance without index, which offers improved regulating stability. Broad Arrow models are also available with cases and hands in 18-carat yellow gold (with black dial), red gold (with dark blue dial) and white gold (with grey "Rolesium" dial) with a matching 18-carat gold bracelet or hand-stitched Louisiana alligator leather strap (in black for the models in yellow and white gold, in blue for the red gold model). Omega Watch is one of the world's best-known manufacturers of various high-end watches, most of the company's products being renowned throughout the world both for their high-end features, but also for their equally impressive price tags. And that's also pretty much the case with the series you're about to see as follows, namely the Speedmaster Broad Arrow Rattrapante. First and foremost, it's important to note that the device is built around a very precise Omega caliber, a self-winding chronograph movement with column wheel mechanism and Co-Axial Escapement for greater precision, stability and durability of the movement. Additionally, since we're talking about a self-winding mechanism, it's also quite important to mention the fact that the watch offers a power reserve of around 52 hours, which is quite a good value (after all, we're talking about more than 2 days). Other very important features, common to all the models from the Speedmaster Broad Arrow Rattrapante series are the free sprung balance, with date, hour, minute and continuous small seconds hands as well as the central chronograph hand. Furthermore, the Speedmaster Broad Arrow Rattrapante watch has also been fitted with a domed anti-reflective, scratch-resistant sapphire crystal face. Moreover, the casing has a relatively normal size (44.25 mm in diameter), and is also resistant to water, down to a depth of around 100 meters. |

OMEGA MEN'S SPEEDMASTER | DISCOUNT OMEGA MEN'S SPEEDMASTER WATCHES COLLECTION |
The OMEGA Speedmaster was originally conceived for those who needed to rely on precision timekeeping: scientists, engineers, athletes and the like. The original gents' Speedmaster was launched in 1957 to meet the needs of scientists and sportspeople who needed to be able to record time accurately. At that time, nobody could have predicted that the Speedmaster would also be chosen to keep track of time on the world's first manned spaceflight missions, notably taking it to the Moon several times and leading to a vital role on the Apollo 13 mission, where it timed the firing of the rockets to help the crew return safely to Earth. More recently, the Speedmaster's racing links are illustrated by five-time Formula 1 world champion Michael Schumacher, who is both an ambassador for and an avid collector of the Speedmaster. The Speedmaster line is that which propelled OMEGA through the stratosphere into outer-space. The OMEGA Speedmaster Professional is the only chronograph to be flight-qualified by NASA for manned space missions and the only watch ever to have been worn on the moon. The men's Speedmaster remains a legend in watchmaking, its popularity unwavering amongst aficionados of classic timepieces. The first-ever advertisement for the OMEGA Speedmaster in 1958 presented the new chronograph as a watch "for men who reckon time in seconds". Omega men's Speedmaster watches is a testament of workmanship and excellence, and have permeated the industry with a wide variety of fine automatic and mechanical watches. This series has made it's mark in human history as the first watch worn on the lunar surface. This series is available in mens style, ranging in materials from durable steel to elegant solid 18K gold with diamonds. Sponsored by Formula One racecar driver Michael Schumacher, Astronaut Eugene Cernan, this collection broadcasts class and excellence by whomever sports it. The design of the Speedmaster Broad Arrow of the Omega Olympic Collection marries the red chronograph hands and the red OMEGA symbol and name with a black dial – the traditional Speedmaster dial colour, reminiscent of that of the legendary Speedmaster Professional "Moon Watch". Incorporating the striking "broad arrow" hands found on the very first Speedmaster models, the Speedmaster Broad Arrow of the Omega Olympic Collection uses OMEGA's high-end column-wheel chronograph movement, OMEGA calibre 3303. |
